| James278301-21-08, 11:04 AM | I have a question regarding ability focus (Monster Manual Pg. 303) If my warlock takes it does his DC approve for all his invocations or do i have to choose one category each time i take the feat. As in Essences, Other Invocations, and Blast Shapes. i am thinking it would work for all invocations, but wanted to make sure. |

| James278301-21-08, 11:19 AM | Wow....I was afraid it would be limited, but I thought maybe not since the Spell Focus works with a whole school of magic.Guess I am not taking that feat! Plus I can't even change the invocation later if I wanted to...unless I wanted a dead feat. Edit : Although i could pick Eldritch Blast correct? that way it's essences and shapes would be affected? I just wouldnt get the DC for invocations that dont alter the blast right in that case. |

This is probably the only way to get any "use" out of the feat on a more cohesive level. I think the way the feat works is balanced, simply because we're talking about a spell-like ability that has unlimited uses. Spell Focus may work for an entire school - but you can only cast spells that make use of it a few times a day. A spell-like ability is too powerful (by nature of it's unlimited use) to have a feat that grants DC bonuses on a broad scale. IMHO. :D |
