I just got this book, but I've been hearing about the swordsage and how one can take Adaptive Style to get over their slow maneuver recovery. The thing is, reading the feat it only talks about changing readied maneuvers, not recovering, and only the crusader is specifically called out as gaining new maneuvers to use. I can't seem to find the place in the book where it says that readied maneuvers are the same as recovered maneuvers.

Can someone point me to the right page? Is the passage I'm looking for worded so that it's not immediately apparent? Or is this just an assumtion people are making?

to set a maneuver to be readied automatically makes it granted for swordsage

to change what maneuvers you have readied, and repicking a new list, would give you a new list of granted maneuvers

It works.

Yeah, there's a custserv faq on ToB somewhere that says it recovers manuvers too, even though it seems to read different in the book. Thus making the feat pretty much manditory for swordsages.

I don't see that anywhere.

So what you're saying is that it's an interpretation that's become popular.

To clarify, I'm being picky about wording because I'd hate to be in a position where I have a swordsage and I take Adaptive Style only to find out that the DM does not consider "readied" the same thing as "recovered" (and even non-jerk DMs could interpret it this way).

The interpretation comes from the customer service faq of WotC, so it's pretty much the "official" interpretation. But whether your DM accepts such a ruling is up to him.
