Can you use "Aid Another" when preforming a jump check? If so, what would that look like? Would it be like the assisted jumping of Cloud and company in Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children?

I have no idea about the video game, but making a "step" with your hands and helping to "launch" somebody is one way I can imagine Aiding Another on a Jump check.

Yes you can. Do you remember when Aragorn tossed Gimli onto the bridge at Helms Deep in The Two Towers? It looks like that.

That's pretty much what they did... Only stupid spectacularly.

That was an epic jump check if I'd ever seen one. Heck, it had people coming back from the other side to perform the aid another action.

It wasn't a video game; it was a movie. Spectacularly stylistic, using video-game physics, and based on a game, yes, but it was a movie nevertheless. You can take a look at the jump here (http://youtube.com/watch?v=_B5JLKS7fPA) (note: Yes, all of those others were present beforehand, and if you haven't played the game or watched the movie, the final "assist" does appear to come out of nowhere even though, technically, it doesn't. It only *looks* like deus ex machina to the unprepared.)

That aside, yes, you can aid ANY skill check the DM says you can, and several people can even work together to aid you (the +2 bonus stacks from multiple assistants up to the DM's reasonable limits). The movie example I would have given would not have been FF:AC's Bahamut:SIN fight, but rather the afforementioned "I cannae make the distance, you'll have t'toss me!" sequence from The Two Towers. In either case, though, that's Aid Another in action. (Cloud's jump is decidedly epic level, though.)

This is how my character died. Willingly, of course. We new that there was an illusionary wall with drow preparing for us to come strolling through. I poked my face through saw that they were all bunched together, dodged an arrow, and pulled myself back in. Turning to our ogre PC, I said throw me as hard as you can.
After a wall of flying dwarf bull rushed 3 drow into the far wall, the other 4 dealt him sneak attack damage as he tried to get up. His last words were "3 down, the rest are yours."

Holy crap, that's ONE GOOD ENDING of a character!
