| Johnathan_Vagabond09-09-07, 04:11 PM | I was thinking recently, about how blaze the whole potion making thing is. Its almost like your making items out of money rather than materials, arcane, strange, twisted materials. While I was poking around, creating "ingredients" for my new alchemy, I thought. Potions are fun, but those are like... bottled magic. Which doesn't appeal to me. If magic were going to be contained, I'd rather see it in something neat, like a runestone, or a prayer scroll, or an arcane symbol (which is how I want to make Arcane Mark a unique spell.) But, on topic. I felt like redoing the potion list, and making it alchemical, and giving "recommended ingredients". I put recommended in quotes, because my ego recommends that I am never wroong, so any other ingredients list, obviously, is flawed. Yes, intentional ironic typo. Mind you, I tried to make these with a modicum of logic (obviously drinking milk won't immediately heal a broken bone, but it has good calcium, and calcium helps bone grow, ergo, milk products for a healing potion.) Note that this is not all of the potions (I don't have all that much time.) And some of the additional equipment should be assumed to not come with the alchemy lab. I welcome suggestions or questions, or chocolate, but not chiles. You mentioned runestones and such, in Complete Divine they list some alternate "potion" types, such as little symbols you break to release the magic, or food items (instead of drinks) that contain the magic so creatures without hands can consume them. |
