well i don't want archery and I don't want two weapon fighting. i want to use reach/pole-arms.

my thoughts were (maybe not in this order):

successful attacks of opportunity deal x2 damage

can hold pole arm one handed

can attack adjacent foes with pole-arm

please give me some suggestions if you have any, or rearrange mine

Just find feats that pertain to reach weapons. Then substitute them where needed. I think PHB II has some good reach weapon feats.

Short haft is from phb 2. standard action to use it against adjascent creatures. standard action to switch back to "full haft" mode.

I would go with something like a flurry mechanic, you can gain one extra attack during full attack if they all take -2 to hit.

Everytime i see a polearmed fighter i imagine them making tons of attacks.

Agreed.

I'd also consider adding Combat Reflexes as a bonus feat in this chain (probably at level 2).

It's a swift action, actually, which is good since giving up a turn for the effect would be pretty bad.

i thought it was pretty awful, but swift action makes it much better.
