The "Back on Your Feet" skill trick says you can get up from prone without an AoO immediately. Does "immediately" mean right after you fall down you get right back up, or do you get up at the beginning of your next turn without incurring a move action?

If you do get right back up (even when it's not your turn), if the tripping attacker has Improved Trip, does he/she/it get the free attack while the target is prone as part of the same action, or does the tripped victim avoid even that disadvantage?

Immediate actions can be taken anytime, even when it's not your turn. You're restricted to one immediate action per round, and the immediate action counts towards your number of swift actions the next round, that means that if you use an im. action to get back on your feet at any time, you can't take any swift actions on the following turn.

As for avoiding the free attack... I'm not sure, I'd probaly allow, but you should consult your dm.

I'd probably rule that the attacker still gets the free attack. He qualified for that when he successfully tripped you. However, you can spend an immediate action to get up from prone and not suffer the -4 to AC - until he trips you again with the free attack. Might be better to wait until he's taken all his attacks before standing up again.
