if i was a duskblade with the obtain familiar feat, would i be able to grant my familiar (a blink dog) temporary use of arcane channeling so that it could deal the spells damage and its own attack damage?

Arcane Channeling is a Supernatural ability. As per the existing rules. You cannot “share” this ability with your familiar. Even if you could have a familiar who could cast spells, like with the Spell-Linked Familiar feat, it still wouldnt be able to channel them; although, it could certainly cast the spells and deliver them as part of a natural attack.

The only way you're going to channel your spell through your familiar is if you wield it as an improvised weapon :P

So, in effect, the familiar has arcane chanelling (full attack) already?

Heck no. He's saying there are ways to allow a familiar to cast spells. This still has nothing to do with you or your abilities, the familiar simply casts a spell and follows all the rules for touch-spells. In this case, it chooses to deliver the spell through a natural attack rather than a touch, which means you have to hit the opponent's full AC instead of touch AC but do melee damage in addition to the spell effect.

This is not a familiar or Duskblade ability, this is genreal rules for touch attacks that any spellcasting class can make.

In that case, it would probably be better for the dog to deliver the spell, then teleport back to me, ready to receive the next spell. or i could just give him a chill touch every few turns.

(i'm gonna need a ring of wizardry or two)
