Prerequisite: Flurry of Blows or Decisive Strike, Weapon Specialization (unarmed strike) Benefits: Your monk and fighter levels stack for the purpose of determining your unarmed strike damage and AC bonus. For example, a 5th-level fighter/5th-level monk with this feat would do 1d10 with his unarmed strike and get +2 to his AC, as if he is an 10th-level monk. Your fighter and monk levels also stack for purpose of qualifying for feats that require a minimum fighter levels, such as Greater Weapon Focus. In addition, you can multiclass freely between the fighter and monk classes. You must still remain lawful in order to retain yout monk abilities and take monk levels. You still face the normal XP penalties for having multiple classes more than one level apart. Special: A fighter can select Ascetic Warrior as one of his fighter bonus feats (PH 38). The weapon specialization could also be a monk weapon. You like? |

It increases pretty much the primary abilities damage and speed, not the secondary ones, that the feats you are thinking of do. As such, the feat should have a limit of no more than 4 levels above your monk level. |

Swift Hunter progresses a Scout's Skirmish ability. I personally think it should be unarmed damage OR speed, not both, but it strikes me as pretty close to right-on for the feats it is supposed to emulate. Some of 'em, anyway. |
| zeone300004-05-07, 01:13 PM | The way is see these types feats is that increases the two/three things that has in common and/or gives some kinda of special ability that combines one ability from each class. (Ascetic Stalker your levels stack for Ki strike, Ki pool, unarmed damage; Ascetic Knight your levels stack for unarmed damage and smite evil damage, Ascetic Hunter your levels stack for unarmed damage, and you can add half your favored enemy bonus on stunning fist DCs against that favored enemy.) |
| teshen04-05-07, 01:15 PM | The feat Ascetic Rogue, I think, stacks rogue and monk for unarmed strike damage and monk ac... well, the feat text does anyway... the feat list describes something different, however. I actually think this monk/fighter feat is kind of underpowered... since you can just about the same thing damage-wise with the Superior Unarmed Strike feat without multiclassing... Also, you'll lose that speed in any armor or when more than lightly encumbered since this feat doesn't remove the monk ability stipulations. Now what fighter type isn't going to wear at least some armor? There should also be a clause that allows a character to multiclass back into monk like the other Ascetic feats... |
| zeone300004-05-07, 01:18 PM | Ok then it should AC bonus instead of speed, because he isn't going to get any other way, besides his Wisdom. And besides monks do just fine without armor. |

Ummm...it just stacks for unarmed damage and get the special ability to add +2 to the DC of stunning fist when you sneak attack with an unarmed strike. |
| teshen04-05-07, 01:36 PM | This sounds more like Practised spell caster than the feat you are thinking of to me. . . As such, the feat should have a limit of no more than 4 levels above your monk level. And I think you are thinking of the poor wording of the Superior Unarmed Strike feat from Tome of Battle. It gives you scaling damage based on character level or, if a monk, treats your unarmed damage as a monk four levels higher. I think it should have added the stipulation, 'whichever is most beneficial'... because by RAW, you can be a monk 1/fighter 19 with Superior Unarmed Strike and be doing 1d8 damage rather than the 2d8 (I think... ) any other 20th level charcter with this feat would be doing. |
| teshen04-05-07, 01:37 PM | . . . it just stacks for unarmed damage and get the special ability to add +2 to the DC of stunning fist when you sneak attack with an unarmed strike. My mistake. |
