Augment Healing and Wands of Cure X Wounds:

Does the Augment Healing improve the spell from the wand?

Offhand I'd say no. unless the feat says so it would only affect spells you cast not spells cast from completion items.

No, it does not improve the effectiveness of spells cast from an item, because you are not casting the spell. You are activating a magic item. (Not even staves get this exception, because the effect isn't on either the spell's save DC or caster level).

Offhand I'd say no. unless the feat says so it would only affect spells you cast not spells cast from completion items.

From Complete Divine: Benefit: Add +2 points per spell level to the amount of damage healed by any Conjuration [Healing] spell that you cast.

The basic question, then, is on wands: Is a spell completion device one that casts the spell itself, or does it use your caster abilities in some way?

Given that the spell in the wand has to be on your class' spell list in order to be able to use it without having to use UMD, what is the actual interaction? The implication, from the spell list requirement, is that it does use your casting in some fashion. Does it use your caster abilities enough to be beneficially affected by Augment Healing?

Yes you do have to have the spell on your list in order to use the wand. However it doesn't count as though you have cast the spell. For example a standard cure light wounds wand heals d8 and adds 1 for being the minimum level the spell is castable at. You don't get to substitute your cleric level for use in the wand. Augment healing would only count on spells you cast unless it specifically mentioned magic items.

Where are the magical energies coming from? In a wand, it's the wand. Same with a scroll. And staffs. So no, you do not get to apply AH to any of those.

Solution? Start buying your wands of healing from someone with the AH feat. :)

It's only working with staff since you can use class abilities with them
AND you use your CL or the staff w/e is higher AND you use YOUR DC's or the staff one's w/e is higher

but no for wands and scroll

Staff are designed to be the most useful item for spell casters (at least for casting)

__edit : BTW you can't craft a wand with special class feature or feats (except for metamagic AND you use the regular no reducing on the lvl increase with class features OR feats)

It's only working with staff since you can use class abilities with themNo, it does not work for any item, not even staves.

The rules say that nothing about the caster affects a spell cast from an item.

The rules for staffs say that the wielder can use his ability modifier and relevant feats to set the spell save DC, and his caster level in place of the staff's caster level.

Augment Healing affects neither the spell save DC nor the caster level of the spell, so cannot be applied to spells cast from a staff.

Can you cite a source on this?
