Awesome Smite + Improved Trip? [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-15-07, 10:04 PM Complete Champion has a Tactical move called Awesome Smite, which allows you to get a free trip attempt after you smite a foe (to represent blasting him to his knees, I suppose).

Now, would Improved Trip grant you a free attack after making that successful trip attempt?

Does it say anything along the lines of "you may trip as a free action"?

If so, improved trip would have no benefit, since it would just give you your free action back.

If it says something like "knocked prone, as though it had been tripped", then yeah, improved trip should work.:)
