I've looked but can't find anything like what I'm looking for. Is there a feat anywhere that allows Bard and Rogue levels to stack for bardic music and sneak attack?

It would be similar to the Devoted Performer (CAdv) feat that allows bard and paladin levels to stack for smite and bardic music, or the Daring Outlaw (CSc) feat that allows Rogue and Swashbuckler levels to stack for sneak attack, grace, and dodge bonus.

If it doesn't exist, are there any opinions about whether it would be a reasonable feat to create?

I guess I'll take that as a 'no, it doesn't exist'.

I like the idea, and since I'm the DM right now I guess I can do it. :D

I'd still like anybody's comments on it though.

I think it'd be too powerful to let bard and rogue levels stack for sneak attack. Only the swashbuckler/rogue gets sneak attack stacking and that's only balanced because swashbuckler is such a terrible class. The other X/rogue hybrids do not.

Perphaps the feat could give some other sneak attack related bonus such as +2 to hit and damage on all sneak attacks while you are using your bardic music ability.

Yeah, any Rogue 1 / bard X could have all the sneak attack, skills and HP of a rogue, plus bard abilities. That'd be too powerful.

hmmm. good point.

What about rogue levels stacking for bardic music, and 1/2 bard levels stack for sneak attack? Do you think slowing down that sneak attack progression would be sufficiently balancing?

A better solution would be to allow both to stack, but never to count for more levels in one class than they have in the other.

In other words a bard 10/rogue 10 would have full bardic music and full sneak attack. But a bard 19/rogue 1 would have full bardic music but sneak attack as a 2nd level rogue (only 1 level of his bard class counts towards sneak attack). A bard 15/rogue 5 would have full bardic music and sneak attack as a rogue 10 (5 levels of rogue, plus 5 levels of bard.).

See what I'm getting at. It completely negates one level dip abuses and rewards balancing your class levels.
