In the player's handbook, it say for bardic music that I can play an intrument in combination with some spoken performance. So, can I add my 4 skill rank of perform string instrument with my 6 skill rank of singning to get a total of 10 skill rank?:confused:

No, the passage you are referring to lists all of the methods that can be used with the bardic music ability. The bardic music subabilities (which actually refer to skill ranks) do not allow for you to stack skill ranks.

10-07-07, 11:55 AM There's a feat called Versatile Performer (CAdv) that makes you treat all Perform categories as if they had as many ranks as your highest-ranked Perform category. You also gain a +2 bonus to check when using more than one of these Performance categories together (but only with this feat!).

Are you asking what is the minimum rank required in perform skills other than your main perform skill? The answer is 0 (no ranks needed), but the number of Perform categories must equal to your Intelligence bonus (minimum 1).
