Beast Totem? [Archive] - Wizards Community

01-30-08, 10:46 PM Umm... This feat is required for the feat Totem Companion. Totem Companion lists the cockatrice and Basilisk as potential companions. Beast totem does not list either critter, so how do you get them if you can only take companions listed under Beast Totem?

01-31-08, 01:43 AM I would say that the Cockatrice and Basilisk are stand-ins for the Gorgon, as you couldn't use a Gorgon until quite a high level (minimum level 16). The Cockatrice and Basilisk both have petrification abilities, so they fit.

Yrthaks are screwed though I guess, unless you can dig up some other sonic damage-dealing monsters.

Then Beastmaster-5, Beast Heart Adept-10!

EDIT: Druid-5, definitely.
