Hey guys. I haven't played a paladin before and I am planning on playing one in the near future. I plan on doing the Hellbred race focusing on Charisma. I will probably get a few devil-touched feats, but I am looking for a couple of really good feats to add on to my damage. I plan on at least getting Exotic Weapon Proficiency(Fullblade) and this will be the Rebalanced Paladin that has been on the wizards forums so much lately.

Extra Smiting (CW)

Improved Smiting (CD I think)

Awesome Smite (Complete Champion, is CC taken?)

Remember the Isley Brothers!

"Well, you know you make me wanna
(Smite) Get my sword up
(Smite) Push the evil back
(Smite) Throw my smackdown
(Smite) Come on now (Smite)
Don't forget to say you will
(Smite, Smite) Don't forget to say
(Smite) Yeah yeah yeah yeah, come on
(Say you will) Say it right now, baby
(Say you will) Come on, come on
(Say you will) Say it right now, baby
(Say you will)
I still remember
When I used to be nine years old yeah, yeah
An' now that I’m grown up
I'm old enough to know
An' I wanna serve thee
You want me ta smite the foe
I want you to know
I said I want you to know right now
You've been good to me, Lord
Better than I've been to myself
And if you ever leave me
I don't want nobody else
I said I want you to know
I said I want you to know right no
You know you make me wanna
(Smite) Get my sword up
(Smite) Push the evil back
(Smite) Throw my smackdown
(Smite) Come on now
(Smite) Don't forget to say you will
(Smite, Smite) Don't forget to say
(Smite) Yeah yeah yeah yeah, come on
(Say you will) Say it right now, baby
(Say you will)
(Say) I know that I love thee
(Say) I know that I need thee
(Say) I know that I want thee
(Say) I’ll never leave thee
(Smite) Come on now
(Smite) Come on now
(Smite) Come on now
(Smite) Come on now
(Smite) A little bit softer now [repeats]
(Smite) A little bit harder now [repeats]
Hey (Hey) Hey (Hey)
Yeah (Yeah) Yeah (Yeah)
Smite now
A little Smite now
Jump up and Smite now
A little Smite now
Come on (Smite now)
Come on now (Smite now)
Come on now (Smite now)
Come on now (Smite now)
Come on jump up and Smite now
A little Smite now
Jump up and Smite now
A little Smite now
Jump up and Smite now
A little Smite now
Jump up and Smite now
A little Smite now, yeah"

Mounted combat related feats are always useful.

He's a paladin, not a bard. Take your prancing elsewhere.

Well, I liked it.

Reminds me of my 2E Player's Options paladin, Gilbert Sullivan, who liked to write songs. My favorite is an Ode to his girlfriend, Annie, sung to the tune of "Tomorrow".

Improved Initiative is a great choice. As a paladin dex is going to be one of your weaker stats, and going first is what you want to do a lot of the time.
I'd stay away from the mounted feats unless you're a halfing, because large mounts such as horses don't do well in dungeons or other cramped places.
If you want to get rid of the summoned creature entirely, the charging smite class substitution from PHB2 is fantastic.
Also consider some of the divine feats. You're going to have turning attempts but turning undead will never be an effective action for you to take. Look at some of the feats that allow you to burn turning attempts for other bonuses.

Divine Might
Divine Shield

These are musts for a paladin.

There is also:
Force of personality (Will saves using Cha . .. mmmm)

Spirited Charge when using Divine Might and/or against evil . . .mmmmm
Power attack

Do your dm allow fullblade as it was? It's a 3.0 weapon which contradicts 3.5 changes, thus no longer legal.

Most popular paladin feats are;
Must-have:
Power Attack
Divine Might
Leap Attack

Elective:
Divine Shield
Extra Smiting
Improved Buckler Defense
Karmic Strike(requires Combat Expertise & Dodge)
Mounted combat feats and Devoted Tracker(ranger/cavalier multiclass)
Robilar's Gambit(requires Combat Reflexes)
Shock Trooper(requires Improved Bull Rush)

As this contains even more smiting goodness, I support it without hesitation!

Generall speaking not every adventure will take place in a dungeon or other cramped space. Just because you can't use a feat every combat doesn't make it useless. Spirited Charge and Power Attack have great synergy together with Smite Evil class ability as a nice boost.

If you know you won't use your mount often enough to justify Sprited Charge, fine, but since the mount is a class feature, it should be discussed with the DM at character creation how often you'll get to use it. If it is determined the mount will be useless, it should be substituded for something else.

Anyway, divine feats from Complete Warrior would do well. I like Divine Vigor myself. It's good in its own right but also synergizes well with the spell Divine Sacrifice.

Dungeonscape (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20070209a) has an alternative class feature replacing its special mount if you foresee that it may not be too useful.:)
