| grantadevine04-28-07, 10:15 PM | I know this is a stupid question but, is there any way to gain extra feats aside from the one every three levels? Please don't suggest the fighter or wizards bonuses because I'm after variety in feat types too. |
| Kouk04-28-07, 10:42 PM | There are other classes that give bonus feats too, but other than that it would just be magic items that simulate feats. There is an armor enchantment in the MIC I think that gives you effective Mobility. |
| grantadevine04-28-07, 11:37 PM | Any items you know of that give the feat Lifesense or any relying on the feat Corpsecrafter? These are taken from Libris Mortis, the book of the undead. ________________________________________ _________________________ I'm considering a raptoran 8th level vampire, 3rd level vampire master and want the corpsecrafter feats so that my fellow party members turned vampire minions can gain some bonuses such as turning resistances, bonus AC, bonus damage with natural attacks, bonus initiative and speed, and best of all if one dies there is a 10ft burst of negative energy that deals 1D6 + 1D6 per 2 HD which with 11th level characters means 6D6 healing to my spawn. |
| runestar04-29-07, 12:08 AM | What kind of feats are you looking for? |
| Moribund04-29-07, 12:29 AM | Increasing corruption and depravity (from Heroes of Horror) grant bonus feats, but come at a cost. |
| grantadevine04-29-07, 01:01 AM | For the DM's out there, any chance of trading a number of skill points for feats? The character, istead of focusing on knot work and hiding may rather learn more useful battle orientated abilities. Would you allow the trade and how many skill points are worth a feat? |
| runestar04-29-07, 01:06 AM | Considering that rogues get potentially up to 44+ skill points at 1st lv, not a chance. I will not have it become a 1-lv dip for bonus feats...:P |
| grantadevine04-29-07, 01:15 AM | You could set limits on skill-feat changes, Ie 15 skill points to a feat and one swap per level |
| Cala, Legend Reborn04-29-07, 02:02 AM | A system called character flaws (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/buildingCharacters/characterFlaws.htm) can potentially give you more feats... though they can also potentially weaken your character in certain situations. |
| runestar04-29-07, 02:13 AM | You could set limits on skill-feat changes, Ie 15 skill points to a feat and one swap per level And that pretty much screws over any other class...:P |
| Novacat04-29-07, 06:31 AM | Play a human. |
| SpoonyBard04-29-07, 12:31 PM | It's generally accepted consensus that a Wish can grant you a bonus feat that you meet the prerequisites for. There was a thread on that a while back. |
| Dheran04-29-07, 01:06 PM | The spell Heroics can give you a feat from the fighter bonus feat list temporarily. A spell like Alter Self will grant racial bonus feats of the assumed form for the duration of the spell (though you'll also lose racial bonus feats of your normal form, if any). As Kouk pointed out, magic items can grant feats. Look around; you might find there's already an item that includes a feat you have or need (example: the Dragonfly Medallion grants Improved Initiative, which many characters find useful). The retraining rules in Players Handbook II can let you swap out an existing feat (that you've duplicated with a magic item) and learn a new feat in its place. If you can't find an existing item, you can make custom items that grant feats using the rules in Arms and Equipment Guide. If you're playing a Rogue, you can substitute a feat for the special abilities that you get at levels 10, 13, ... |
| SpoonyBard04-29-07, 03:13 PM | Where in Arms and Equipment guide is this? I can't find it. |
| Contrast04-29-07, 06:43 PM | Corpsecrafter and it's offspring feats only function for undead you raise or create with a necromancy spell. I could be wrong, but I’m highly certain that these feats would not apply to undead created by a vampire’s create spawn ability. |
| Shadowfax704-29-07, 07:15 PM | Flaws in Unearthed Arcana provide you with a bonus feat for taking a flaw. |
| Dheran04-29-07, 10:53 PM | Where in Arms and Equipment guide is this? I can't find it. It's on page 128. |
| Dheran04-29-07, 11:02 PM | Flaws in Unearthed Arcana provide you with a bonus feat for taking a flaw. Yes, we got that the first time, when Cala (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?p=12245358#post12245358) mentioned it and provided the helpful link to the online info (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/buildingCharacters/characterFlaws.htm). |
| Novacat04-29-07, 11:35 PM | Play a human. I like this suggestion the best so far. |
| grantadevine04-30-07, 01:49 AM | Corpsecrafter and it's offspring feats only function for undead you raise or create with a necromancy spell. what it says is, "undead you raise or create with a necromancy spell" I know, it can be a little difficult to interpret and I think it should have been written a little better so there would be no room for misinterpretation. and even if you're right and it doesn't apply to vampires, my DM isn't likely to know that :) |
| grantadevine04-30-07, 01:53 AM | In the case of feats in items, anyone know of a specific example of an item with the Lifesense feat from Libris Mortis? |
| Kouk04-30-07, 02:56 AM | In the case of feats in items, anyone know of a specific example of an item with the Lifesense feat from Libris Mortis? You could always (try to) make one using the rules in the DMG. |
| grantadevine04-30-07, 05:40 AM | Off the original topic but, does anyone know where I can find the feat that allows me to control bonus undead over the double my HD amount? |
| Dheran04-30-07, 10:15 PM | Many Clerical domains grant feats. A single level of Cleric gives you two domains -- or three if you go the Cloistered Cleric route, though the third domain (Knowledge) doesn't grant a feat. |
