Can I bypass prerequisits when picking a Bonus fighter feat?

The PHB reads:
"Fighters gain bonus feats selected from a subset of the
feat list presented in Table 5–1 (page 90). Any feat
designated as a fighter feat can be selected as a fighter’s
bonus feat. This designation does not restrict characters of
other classes from selecting these feats, assuming that they
meet any prerequisites."

Seems a bit broken that I can pick such feats as Spring Attack straight away if that is the case.

This should answer your question (key sentence in bold):

Bonus Feats: At 1st level, a fighter gets a bonus combat-oriented feat in addition to the feat that any 1st-level character gets and the bonus feat granted to a human character. The fighter gains an additional bonus feat at 2nd level and every two fighter levels thereafter (4th, 6th, 8th, 10th, 12th, 14th, 16th, 18th, and 20th). These bonus feats must be drawn from the feats noted as fighter bonus feats. A fighter must still meet all prerequisites for a bonus feat, including ability score and base attack bonus minimums.
These bonus feats are in addition to the feat that a character of any class gets from advancing levels. A fighter is not limited to the list of fighter bonus feats when choosing these feats.

My PHB has the same sentence in it.

What on earth made you think you could bypass the pre-reqs?

To answer your question, No.

No way.

If you could just think of how many builds would take a level or two of fighter just for the "free, no prereq" bonus feats. Why bother with two-weapon fighting when you can go straight to greater TWF. Grabbing Whirlwind attack without needing the ability scores, BAB, and four prereq feats is definitely something I'd do at 1st level if allowed. Spring attack and Shot on the Run also become nice early picks.
