I've seen this term referenced a few times on these boards. Just wondering, what is this and in what book can I read the specifics about it??

It swaps wisdom for intelligence for monk abilities. Champions of Valor.

No disrespect intended, mate, but the description from the first thread was a bit cryptic in conveying what carmendine monk did. And the second link - a direct link to Google, no less - wasn't that helpful, and seemed a bit more of a sarcastic retort.

You wouldn't know it, as I didn't say it in the OP, but I always try and do a search of some sort regarding a subject before starting a new thread on here. Often, that search will include a Google search. I did try a Google search but got nothing. I did NOT try an advanced google, however, and will try that next time.

It lets you use your int mod in place of wis mod for monk's AC bonus and the dc of its special abilities. In addition, you choose one of a few abilities to be treated as 2 lvs higher for effects.

The limitation is that you must be part of a certain organization, which may limit you rp wise.

Ooooh. Will definitely have to check out Champions of Valor and see what that organization is about. Probably won't fit with the character I'm in the process of finalizing/building now, but would be good to know for the future.

Thanks!

Hm ... if you take the Freezing the Lifeblood feat, does that become keyed to int, too? It's obviously meant to be an upgrade to Stunning Fist, which is now based on int, but I'm sure neither of the feats (FtLB and Carmendine Monk) mention each other..

The first hit on google told exactly what the feat does as well as what book its located in (and page number). I did not do an advanced search, just use quotes.

IIRC, it mentions only stunning fist and quivering palm. I suppose you could extrapolate it to mean any additional abilities keyed off these 2 features. I would allow it as a houserule, even if that were not the case.:)

No, I realize what I did when i searched: I searched for "carmendine", not "carmendine monk", as I did not know that the monk part of it was...well, part of it.

Now that I search google again, a whole crop of carmendine pops up, with this discussion at the top of the list.

Weird that...
