Divine power focuses your rage and enables you to function as a spellcaster even while in the throes of bloodlust. While raging, you can make Concentraton checks identical to those required to cast defensively in order to cast divine spells. In addition, you can make Concentration checks to cast defensively while raging, albeit at a -4 penalty to your roll. This feat does not allow you to do anything else that you could not normally do while raging. Prerequisites: Ability to rage, ability to cast divine spells, access to one of the following domains: Chaos, Destruction, War. Worth it? Too good? - Ron ^*^ |

Keep in mind that the -4 to concentration check is only -2 if you figure in the constitution increase from rage. May want to raise it to DC 20+spell level. (effectively -5 to the check, but in a different way) You may also want to make it a [Divine] feat, meaning that you can't use other [Divine] feats in the same round, so no Divine Metamagic while raging. Also, it would use a turn attempt. |

A better option might be to allow Concentration checks with a bonus to the roll to keep casting after being injured... The raging barbarian takes the hit and doesn't miss a beat with his casting... But there are a LOT of other Concentration checks that need to be made in combat, from casting while prone to casting while in noxious fumes. Seems like you'd have to either allow Concentration checks for the purposes of casting or not. Although I guess you could just allow all Concentration checks for the purposes of casting EXCEPT casting defensively, and then grant a bonus to checks to maintain concentration after having taken damage. - Ron ^*^ |

I mean, the fact that you can't cast spells or use most skills while raging is really the main drawback of that class feature. Coupled with the CoDzilla, it certain smells like abuse potential. |
| Derren S.09-25-07, 04:57 AM | Considering that there is a whole PRC dedicated to casting in rage I think that this feat is a bit too much. Granted, that PRC is only for arcane casters but I see no reason why divine casters, who are already the strongest class in teh game, should have an even easier time. |
