| MegumiAmano02-26-07, 11:47 AM | Is it possible to combine the effects of Claw at the Moon (Tome of Battle) and Leap Attack (Complete Adventurer)? Assumptions: * Both jump checks are a success. * I have room to move and charge the enemy. * I haven't done anything else this round. * If I give up 2 BAB and use a two-handed weapon, I'll be dealing +2d6 +12 from this combination. |

You don't take two checks, not unless they are two separate actions and in this case they aren't. In fact much like my post on Combat Brute + Leap Attack you can use these tactics with claw at the moon. However you'll have to meet more requirements. |
| MegumiAmano02-26-07, 12:43 PM | What you said about Leap Attack makes sense to me, I think. But now I'm wondering if you can combine a charge with Claw at the Moon. If you can, then great. If you can't, then this isn't going to work. Claw of the Moon requires 1 standard action for its initiator action, and doesn't mention anything about it being a charge. I'm not sure what my options are here, if I want to get a running start (i.e. a charge) before pulling the trigger on Claw of the Moon + Leap Attack. |
| Aminvelos02-26-07, 01:34 PM | Well the one thing I forgot to mention is that you'll have to do something like time stands still or something to that effect that allows you to make another standard action because charge is a full-round action. You can charge on a movement action or a standard action but if you do this you have to be restricted in some way. Now, depending on your skill tricks this could allow you to get off a claw of the moon and then a leap attack but then since you're making two separate attacks your going to have to make two checks and even then thats only if the dm accepts the. "You can’t use this option unless you are restricted to taking only a standard action or move action on your turn." Being restricted because you already used your standard action. If you chose a Mountain Spirit Folk as your warblade it's definately feasible. Also if worse comes to worse you'll just have to wait for pouncing charge to gain the manuever/feat benefit. |

However, your DM might be willing to let you use Leap Attack with Claw at the Moon so long as you move Leap Attack's requisite distance through the air, simply because Claw at the Moon is what you'd think of as a Leap Attack. That same DM might also charge you your move action to let Claw at the Moon count as a charge. |
| tarkin02-26-07, 02:05 PM | Charge is not a standard action. Such a combination would be a strong power gamer house rule. In a Loose Game, I would expect someone to be forced to take a feat, probably called "Improved Claw at the Moon" in order to do what you describe. |
| Caliborn02-26-07, 02:19 PM | You need Battle Jump in order to make this work; anytime you fall from at least five feat above your target it counts as a charge, plus your damage is doubled. |
| Aminvelos02-27-07, 09:14 AM | Tarkin I think u might want to re-read the rules on that one. You can still charge if you are restricted to only a standard or movement action left, however the key there is "restricted". |
