They are listed in the PHB under 0 level cleric spells. As a cleric you dont have to pick which ones you want to learn because you may choose from any that are on your list. You can only take 3 per day and use them though... Now the 1+1 means that you get 1 spell at 1st level and one 1st level domain spell. Clerics start with 2 domains that represent kind of what their god is all about. Each domain has a list of spells (also in the PHB) that you may choose for the +1, so that essentially you will receive 1 spell of your choosing from the 1st level spells, and one of your 2 domains. Now since your Wisdom is 17, and you receive a +3 bonus, you will notice at the very beginning of the PHB a chart that explains the stat numbers and bonuses. THere it will tell you that your +3 bonus entitles you to some bonus spells. These add to the number of spells you receive per day. At 17 wisdom, you will get a bonus spell of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level, but you must 1st be able to cast that level to receive the bonus spell, so at this time you will only get 1 bonus spell at 1st level. Now your 1st level cleric gets 1 spell of any on the list, 1 spell of your two domains, and 1 bonus spell of any on the list for a high wisdom score. So you should have 3 0lvl spells, and 3 1st level spells. Read more thoroughly, you should familiarize yourself with many of the spells and what they do. Also reread the cleric section so that you understand this more. THe PhB is pretty clear on most of this stuff, but you will have to flip through it a bunch to get a full grasp. Plan to spend a little time with it :D |
| bugman196408-22-07, 03:09 PM | ive probably read the cleric section 5 0r 6 times and still find my self going back and reading sections |
| Tedronai08-23-07, 01:06 AM | Especially the turn/rebuke undead rules in the special combat actions section... Those are probably the most difficult to remember rules (other than specific spell effects) in the entire book. |
| tarkin08-23-07, 10:04 AM | I have never found the Cleric rules to be a problem. I think the problem is you looked at the charts before reading about Domains etc. For me, the Grapple rules to be the most dificult to remember. |
