I was reading in another thread that the Collegiate Wizard feat is a good one to take, but I can't find that feat in any of my source books! It's not in Complete Arcane/Mage, PH2 or any other of the source materials I have... Anyone know where I can get the details of it?

Thanks!

It actually is in Complete Arcane, just not under the feats section. You will find it on page 181:).

And in case anyone is wondering what this feat does...:)
Collegiate Wizard

You have undergone extensive training in a formal school for wizards.

Prerequisites: Int 13, wizard level 1

Benefit: You begin play with knowledge of six 1st-level spells, plus 1 per point of Intelligence bonus. Each time you gain a wizard level, you may add four spells to your spellbook. You gain a +2 bonus on all Knowledge (arcana) checks.

Normal: 1st-level wizards begin play with knowledge of three 1st-level spells, and add two spells per level to their spellbook.

Special: You can take this feat only as a 1st-level character.

Waits for it...:P

If you see something that you think violates the CoC, just report it and move on.

So you posted something with the intent to draw criticism. Maybe you can explain to me how that isn't baiting.

Well, to my understanding, baiting typically involves an inflammatory statement of some kind. Nor might CryoSilver's reply be construed as negative, since he was merely making a normative statement.

Let's just say that I am testing the waters...;)

Yes, you were. You were testing the water with a hook with an enticing item on it.

That's called bait.

You posted something in the hopes of eliciting a negative response (in fact, you even encouraged it a little with the smiley) just so you could "reveal" your little trick.

I know from experience that you aren't the kind of poster that engages in that sort of behavior (that's why I haven't reported anything), but I thought you were getting disconcertingly close. That's why I felt I had to mention it to you.

I'll let it drop now.

Hmm...That smilie was meant more as a hint that nothing was quite as it seemed, rather than to encourage any sort of "supposed baiting" as purported.

I am still not convinced entirely that it counts as a form of baiting, though the longer I stare at my original post, the more it suspiciously seems like one. :embarrass

Nonetheless, I apologize sincerely to anyone who was offended.:)
