For the Multiweapon Fighting feat in the MM it specifically states, "This feat replaces the Two-Weapon Fighting feat for creatures with more than two arms."

A thri-kreen has 4 arms.

Therefore, at second level, would a thri-kreen ranger gain Multweapon Fighting instead of Two-Weapon Fighting if he chose the two-weapon style?

I would say yes.

That's what I figured.

And then when the ranger gained Imp. TWF and so on, he would just gain the extra attack as normal. Right?

I would say yes, and then I would get frustrated that you were playing a Thri-Kreen "4 attack master" character. Don't forget to take a level in Monk because the extra attacks from Monk's Flury of Blows stacks with the extra attack from Two-Weapon Fighting - incidently. So you could get 2 Flurry of Blows attacks plus 3 "off-hand" attacks from Mulit-Weapon fighting - at 1st level (Monk 1 with Multi-Weapon Fighting).

At Monk 8, you'd have 3 attacks from flury, plus 3 off-hand attacks, plus a possible 1 additional for Improved Multiweapon fighting plus 1 from your wizard if he knows haste for a total of 8 attacks.

Don't forget to use a Spiked Chain with Combat Reflexes and Improved Trip and then I'd probably go for a pair of katanas?

The rules for this are in the D&D Faq. (visit the D&D page) Go ahead, make your DM's jaw drop.

1st: Exotic Spiked Chain
Ranger 1 (Multiweapon Fighting)
Monk 1 (Flurry, unarmed) Wis to AC!
3rd: Improved Trip
Fighter 2 (Combat Reflexes, Off-handed Strength?)
4th +1 Dex or +1 Str
Rogue 1: Sneak attack (Extra 5d6 damage)

Or you could tone it down and not make your character a problem the DM has to fix.... ...but it would be fun for a while.

Thanks for the reply.

For the record, I decided on this character for the roleplay opportunities it presented. I'm sure I, or someone else could do the insane attacks thing without the +2LA and 2 racial HD if that was my only reason for picking the race.

And don't forget the level of barbarian so that you now get pounce, too. :D

Edit: I am NOT seriously suggesting this. It is, however, a fun thought

Lol

Maybe I should've taken this over to the CO boards and let them have some fun.
