I saw the turtle one with shortswords.

but I think with all the combat styles classic in fantasy settings
they need to make one with a medium sword and a shield. They have the crescent moon sword and dagger, wich is a classic style. but with all the other combat styles out there I am surprised they havn't ((to my knowledge)) come up with this one yet.

IF they have and I am just ebing dumb point me in the right direction. cause I coudla swore there was one.. but I been looking for a week and searching these forums and online and have yet to run across it.

I agree that there should be a fighting style for sword and shield. It should provide like +2 extra bonus to your shield's AC bonus and stuff along those lines. It would surely need more because +2 is so measly.

with the benefits given from selecting a style... i agree... BUT i would point you in the direction of many tactical feats personally... try checking those out and see what you think :P

I guess I see the style feats as being for sort of outlandish combinations that you wouldn't normally use. Plain sword and board may not be totally optimized, but it's not outlandish. (And with the newer feats in the PHBII and the revised ruling on the bashing enhancement, it's really not so weak.)

Shield Feats:

Centurian:[Tactical]
Prerequisites:Improved Shield Bash, Two-Weapon Figting,
Base Attack Bonus +6
Benefit:Shield Bearer enable the use of three tactical Maneuvers
Redoubt:to make use of this Maneuver you must be using a shield in your off-hand, you may make an opposed attack roll with your shield against the attack made by you target, if the attack succeeds it misses, apply half the amount of damage to the shield. this action counts against the number of attacks that can be made with your off-hand and the penalty for wielding two weapons also apply to this roll.
Cover-up:to make use of this maneuver you must be useing a shield in your off-hand, you may apply your shields AC bonus to you reflex saves.
Quick-step:To make use of this maneuver you must be using a shield in your off-hand, If you succeed on an opposed attack roll against attacks made by a reach weapon(including attacks of oppertunity) through the use of Redoubt, you may immediately move into a square adjacent to the wielder and make a free attack at your highest base attack bonus.

Elite Centurian:[Tactical][Elite]
Prerequisites: Centurian, Combat Reflexes, ITWF, BAB +12
Benefits: Elite Centurian enable the use of three tactical maneuvers
Deflect: To make use of this maneuver you must be using a shield in your off-hand, whenever an opponent misses due to your Redoubt, they provoke an attack of oppertunity, these attacks count against the normal attacks of oppertunity you are allowed, however you may attack the same opponent as long as you keep deflecting his attacks.
Hidden Threat: To make use of this Maneuver you must be using a shield in your off-hand, if you strike an opponent with your shield twice in the same round he is considered flat footed.
Follow-Up: To make use of this maneuver you must be wielding a shield in your off-hand, if you hit your opponent at least three times in the same round you get an additonal attack on the following round at your highest base attack Bonus

Rushing Wall:[Style]
Prerequisites: Shield Charge, and Improved Bull Rush
Benefit: If you hit with your shield as part of a charge you may make an immediate Bullrush attempt, if you succeed you may make an additional attack with the weapon in your main hand at your highest base attack bonus.

just some of my own stuff.

One feature that I love in OneWinged4ngel's new paladin class (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=761045) is the Divine Wall ability he added for the Argent specialization.
Divine Wall (Su)
As long as the paladin wields a shield, her square blocks line of effect for all effects. For example, if allies hid behind the paladin when a dragon used its breath weapon from the opposite side, it would only hit the paladin. One thing is that he had the paladin getting this at 15th level, so if an ability like this were to be included, it would need a very high BAB requirement.

It's one of those things that doesn't really help you, but your party members might like it. ;)

BTW, bhaal006, I like those feats.

just some of my own stuff.

I like the idea and the direction you are going with, and I think I'll actually use some of this, but some suggestions,

I would add "Combat Expertise" as a prerequisite, or maybe INT 13+. Seems to fit the build.
I like the Cover Up But it may throw some things out of balance if someone is playing an agile fighter with a high DEX. I would state:

Cover Up
Apply shield bonus and enhancement (if any) to replace DEX bonus on reflex saving throw.

I see a Shield as granting you some protective cover from a fireball, not making it easier to tumble out of harms way.

Also: Hidden Threat Add Sheild bonus to Bluff check to feint in combat.

This comment come from my personal experience in the SCA and how a shield actually works in combat, not just a combat simulation.

Those are some great ideas.

I came across Agile Shiled Fighter wich is nice.. until I realized you still needed two weapon fighting.. I thought this replaced two weapon fighting.

perhaps there is erratta... maybee I look.....

anyhow those are some great ideas. Anyone have any others?
