| PhantomTrain07-27-07, 11:15 AM | If a creature has DR 5/bludgeoning and magic, does an attack have to be both those things to overcome the DR or does an attack have to be either of those things to overcome the DR? And yes, it's DR this and that, not DR this or that, but I just want to be certain. |
| foxtail07-27-07, 11:23 AM | If it's DR/bludgeoning and magic, then both properties are required to overcome the DR. "Bludgeoning or magic" would require either one. |
| Vrael07-27-07, 11:28 AM | If the operand "and" is used, then it must be both. |

Now blah1 or blah2 can be overcome by either blad1 or blah2. How did you think both the "or" and the "and" functioned the same way? |
| BugHunter07-27-07, 08:10 PM | There is a good description on pages 307 & 308 of MM1. |
| Malruhn07-28-07, 07:19 PM | Here's a stupid follow-on question. If BBEG has a ring that gives him DR 1/styrofoam, and bracers that give him DR 2/Lemon Jello, does he have DR 3 that needs both in it, or is it just the higher of the two - and only the Lemon Jello means anything? Usually similar stuff is combined, but only the highest counts... Silly, I know, but it might clear some things up. |

The DR 2/Lemon Jello predominates unless he is being hit with Lemon Jello, in which case it goes to his DR 1/styrofoam DR doesn't stack but it DOES overlap. |
