| bignate08-21-07, 01:13 PM | hi all, can anyone tell me if there are rules for counter tracking? i know in the phb under tracking there is a modifyer that says: "Tracked party hides trail (and moves at half speed) +5 " but are there any more detailed rules where a person with the track feat covers the tracks? i thought i saw a rule one time that said something like add half your survival check result to the difficulty to track you or something but i cant find anything like that now... |

It may be what you're looking for, though, as it would function similar to what you're talking about, it's in the skills under survival on counter tracking. "Cover Tracks". I think it might have been something like "as a ranger tracks 2 levels lower" or something, and there were the same modifiers for rate of speed, number and size of creatures, etc. That suggests to me that a ranger or character with the tracker skill might be in 3.5 "allowed" to do such a thing as an "opposed roll" sort of thing, same as say spot vs slight of hand or move silently vs listen. Any such thing would of course, be a houserule of some kind, and I'm probably overlooking something very flawed in my thinking, or something already exists that I'm simply not thinking of. Neue |
