I want my character to be able to repair his goliath greathammer in the field if need be. I've given him max ranks in weponsmithing, but what I'm not sure on is materials. I know you take the cost and figure out a third of the silver pieces cost, but not if you just make this known ahead of time or what (that youve got the materials to repair it). I know this is probably pointless and that I'm likely to never need it, but I thought it added to his flavor a bit.

Repairing Items
Generally, you can repair an item by making checks against the same DC that it took to make the item in the first place. The cost of repairing an item is one-fifth of the item’s price.

That is also found under Craft skill. Your character could spend the money on the raw materials ahead of time of course, but that ties up resources for something you may never need.
