| Shiftkitty10-23-07, 03:44 PM | Well, you could go into fantasy metallurgy and determine how much harder these materials are to work, or you could just say no, but the cost of manufacture is significantly higher (which would be my choice as DM). |
| Dog_O_War10-23-07, 03:45 PM | They're a +price and do not modify craft times. If they did it would take the already silly times to craft certain items to the realm of unreasonable. Full-plate alone takes near a year to craft at 1500gp. |

The masterwork part is included in the Mithril/Adamantine cost. So you end up with two checks (one for the normal item and one for the DC20 masterwork part). So as a result of needing to count off more silver/copper to get to 4,000 gp etc, you end up taking much much longer to make. IIRC there is an example on how to do this in the FAQ. |
| StevenO10-24-07, 12:33 AM | This is really up to the DM. Some like using the crafting time and cost when considering the overall price of the item. Others perfer to treat the time/cost of constructing the base item (including masterwork) and then add the full price for any special materials. |
