However I am finding that crafting doesn't really fit well within structure of the game, since it requires a huge amount of time (realistic maybe, but I am playing with dragons/wizards realism is not always necessary). For instance to make full plate it takes on average around 6 months. Obviously way too long for your normal campaign. It gives you no reason to make things as opposed to buy things. So where am I going with this? Simple, I need advice in how I can utilize (make useful) skill such as crafting to allow it to make things, like weapons armor in reasonable amount of time. In addition does anyone know a prestige class for a cleric that would help in crafting, from WoTC sources. BTW Currently I have +13 to my checks in smithing/weapon/armor crafting. Thanks |

Now, in real life, blacksmiths tended to be strong, so they got a reputation as fighter types. But with the existence of Magic, I would have to say the crafter build should go with magic, not with a non-caster. |
