I have hopfully a simple question. When it comes to crafting items what is the duration of a day? Is it considered 8hrs, 12hrs, 24hrs?

I believe it's considered an 8-hour work day. That makes the Unseen Crafter spell with Sudden Extend or a Rod of Extend a real crafting bargain, since you can have one Unseen Crafter working triple shifts if you're 8th level.
