| bkdubs12308-08-07, 03:11 PM | Is there any feat or item I could take/buy that would allow me to deflect more than one arrow per round? Thanks much, Bkdubs123 |
| Knightblde08-08-07, 03:14 PM | If you took the feat, and had an item you should be able to do it with no problem |
| Nephlite08-08-07, 03:19 PM | Is there any feat or item I could take/buy that would allow me to deflect more than one arrow per round? Thanks much, Bkdubs123 Can you use a shield? The Arrow catching shield ability would stack giving you a second one/rd. But you'd have to fight unarmed for deflect arrow and use a shield at same time. Monks aren't proficient sadly. There are Epic feats though. |
| bkdubs12308-08-07, 03:27 PM | I'm working with a Monk/Swashbuckler build. I know I could just pick up a shield, but I'd rather not. Are there any special gloves or something that could help? |
| Fallenangel35908-08-07, 03:51 PM | a monk with a buckler can do it :P |
| primemover00308-08-07, 04:08 PM | There are gloves of arrow snaring... but if you already have the feat they're not worth it. I'd defintiely allow a feat chain, improved deflect arrows. Dex 15, Imp. unarmed strike, defect arrows. Lets you deflect as many arrows as your Dex modifier (like Combat Reflexes). |

| Witch08-08-07, 04:41 PM | The Epic Feat is called Infinite Deflection and does just what its name implies. Allowing a number of deflections equal to Dex likely makes the epic feat worthless. It also makes archers even more crappy at non-epic. |
| Obsidianjaerc08-08-07, 04:43 PM | Infinite Deflection [Epic] Prerequisites Dex 25, Combat Reflexes, Deflect Arrows, Improved Unarmed Strike Benefit You may perform any number of deflections each round, as the Deflect Arrows feat. There is also an armour special quality that will do that at Epic Levels, mimicking a +6 bonus. And then there is sane version ;) REVISED INFINITE DEFLECTION [Epic] Prerequisites Dex 25, Combat Reflexes, Deflect Arrows, Improved Unarmed Strike Benefit You may deflect multiple projectiles per round; however, each projectile after the first becomes increasingly more difficult to deflect. The Reflex save DC in order to deflect any projectile after the first is 1/2 attacker's BAB + attacker's Dex modifier + the projectile's enhancement bonus + 5 for each projectile previously deflected in that round. When using this ability together with Exceptional Deflection, calculate the DC for ranged touch spells by replacing the base attack bonus and enhancement bonus factors by caster level and spell level, respectively. |
| NeueRegel08-08-07, 05:00 PM | Hehe. Giggling like a little girl... This is the first thread ever that made me think to break our almost "pure core rules", and for totally selfish reasons. Because my best character is a 20th level 9th level fighter/11th level monk. I'd *LOVE* to apply combat reflexes to his deflect arrows, at 7 a round. That would look so fricking cinematically cool, lol. Kung-fu theatre, bring it on! lol Neue If we only played epic... |
| bkdubs12308-08-07, 05:21 PM | Hmm... so other than the epic feat (which I was aware of) there's nothing that helps, eh? Too bad... Not even just some item or something that allows for deflecting one extra arrow per round? |
| Warforged Goblin08-08-07, 05:43 PM | In an issue of Dragon (the one with the different types of pole arms), there's a feat that lets you deflect all day long, I believe... Granted, it's only with a pole arm, but they allow the quarterstaff under the feat description. I forget the rest of the prereqs though. |
| NeueRegel08-08-07, 05:58 PM | If you only need one more, or whatever, there is a simple weapon addition called "deflecting". Exactly the same as the feat. I don't know what book it's from, but it's an older one, since it's included in E-tools, a computer program by WotC. I would allow it to "stack" with the feat, if you have the feat and prereq's, and an open off hand, for a total of two per round. Neue |
| NeueRegel08-08-07, 06:07 PM | Oh, rather than edit, I'll just post again, to make sure you see it. I stated "exactly the same", but it is not exactly the same as the feat, as there is a save-check involved, but I must stay within the OGL and not post that specific. It is in Complete Warrior. | primemover00308-08-07, 06:26 PM | Wow I didn't even know that Epic feat existed... funny how I pretty much made exactly the same thing, save for the Dex req. |
