| wizarddog06-06-07, 04:19 AM | It don't have my PHB handy but last time I read the feat I was still confused. How does this feat work? Do you roll to deflect an arrow or do automatically do so? |
| Kouk06-06-07, 04:43 AM | Deflect Arrows [General] Prerequisites Dex 13, Improved Unarmed Strike. Benefit You must have at least one hand free (holding nothing) to use this feat. Once per round when you would normally be hit with a ranged weapon, you may deflect it so that you take no damage from it. You must be aware of the attack and not flat-footed. Attempting to deflect a ranged weapon doesn’t count as an action. Unusually massive ranged weapons and ranged attacks generated by spell effects can’t be deflected. Special A monk may select Deflect Arrows as a bonus feat at 2nd level, even if she does not meet the prerequisites. A fighter may select Deflect Arrows as one of his fighter bonus feats. Taken from the free online SRD (System Reference Document) http://www.d20srd.org/index.htm In version 3.0 you had to make a DC 20 Reflex save, +1 DC for each enhancement bonus on the projectile, but now it is just automatic. |
| Argo06-06-07, 05:11 AM | Delect Arrows: Prereq: Wis 8 or lower Whenever you see arrows, be they in a quiver, nocked on a bow, or unattended on a table, you have a strong urge to eat them. You fly into an "Arrow-Rage," during which you gain 2 temporary hit points, plus 1 for every 10 arrows you can see, as well as a +4 bonus to Strength. During this time, you cannot use any skill, cast any spell, or use powers that rely on Intelligence or Wisdom. You retain these bonuses and penalties until you eat and consume all of the arrows. Once you see arrows, should you take any action that does not reasonably facilitate your arrow-consumption (DM's discretion), you lose the bonuses, take a temporary negative level and are fatigued. You must be able to see and have line of effect to the arrows in order to begin your "Arrow-Rage". A fighter may select Delect Arrows as a bonus feat. |
| Majick06-06-07, 07:07 AM | Shield Block for the win man, seriously - Shield Block Prerequisites: 13 dex, shield proficiency Effect: When using any shield that ain't a buckler, first arrow fired at you don't mean squat Special: Easier to qualify for than Deflect Arrow and makes a HELL OF A LOT MORE SENSE when you actually THINK ABOUT IT  |
| tarkin06-06-07, 11:17 AM | Uhm, where did you find "Shield Block". It looks wrong (too powerfull), and I could not find it. Possibly a 3rd party, "if we don't make it very over-powered no one will buy our book" publisher? WoTC's official list of all feats (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/lists/feats) |
| Majick06-06-07, 11:47 AM | Uhm, where did you find "Shield Block". Er... Heroes of Battle man... it's like... one of the few good feats in the book  |
