So I went to look for other options. I looked for a way to get the service of a nightmare but I found nothing. So I rolled my own: Demon steed [General] Prerequisites: Cha 13, Character level 9, Ride 4 ranks, familliar class ability Benefits: You gain the services of a Nightmare as a steed. It is bound to serve you loyally as long as you treat is fairly. It is not able to use its spell like abilities Astral Projection and Etherealness. You lose access to your familliar. Overpowered, underpowered what does it need or should I remove? |

Also, Planar Handbook has the Lesser Nightmare, which is what you're looking for... It's only one level lower than regular Nightmare, but a Blackguard can get one. |
