| Lyndis02-06-08, 12:37 AM | Can I use the Devoted Tracker feat to stack non-ranger levels and Paladin levels to determine smite and animal companion goodness? For example, Druid and Beastmaster both give animal companions, and I'd like to be able to use those classes to benefit from Devoted Tracker. I've got this idea for a halfling character... |

If you're anything but lawful good, then you lose all paladin abilities, including smite evil. Druid/paladin just cannot work, regardless of devoted tracker, thanks to alignment incompatibilities. Even if you use Unearthed Arcana paladins with CG, CE, and LE paladins, they druid and paladin alignments are mutually exclusive. As far as the feat goes, smite evil stacking is strictly between paladin and ranger. However, animal companion stacking -- such as from beastmaster levels, but not druid levels -- there are no specifications that it's paladin/ranger only, unless you interpret the stipulations of the previous paragraph as carrying over, so a paladin/beastmaster's special mount might be designated an animal companion too, possibly. |
