I have a player who is playing a ranger/cleric......he is trying not to have to spend to much of his money on ability enhancers......so i told him i though i saw a feat that allowed u to use your dex modifier instead of str for damage with a bow.....but now i cant find it...i think i may have been thinking of the champion of corelleon ability for a blade...but if any of u could help it would be greatly appreciated...thank u

For a crossbow, there is the Crossbow Sniper feat from PHBII that lets you add half your dex bonus to damage. Requires weap focus. (also lets you sneak attack from up to 60 feet, but I don't think your cleric needs that).

For a bow, I know there is Dead Eye feat from Dragon Compendium (and Dragon 304) that lets you add Dex bonus on ranged weapon damage if you have Weapon Focus and are within 30 feet. The prerequisite of +14 BAB was errata'd to be just +1 BAB (making it way easier to get).

Excellent he will be very happy....we play mostly dungeon delves so the 30' range doesnt really affect him to much....thank you very much.

There's also the Targetteer Fighter variant baseclass from Dragon # 310, I believe.

I'm rather interested in this Targeteer, if you could tell me more about it?

In the Dragon Compendium there is a feat called Dead Eye that lets you add your Dex bonus to your ranged attack within 30 feet. It only applies to a weapon you have Weapon Focus with, and you have to have a base attack of 14 or higher. The extra damage doesn't apply to creatures immune to critical hits.

where was it errata'd?

Remember, Dragon Compendium was printed by Paizo, who own(ed) the magazines. Lotta mistakes in that book, but who needs proofreading when you can just make a .pdf?

Does anyone know what the Targeteer fighter variant ( mentioned earlier in this thread) does?
