Would there be a flat DC, or would disguise come into play. Or would the disguise check be made at the creation of the mask? I've got some buddies who love burglering. |

| tarkin03-29-07, 01:18 PM | It is a spot check (vs. Disguise), but you would not be allowed to pretend to be someone else, just 'unreconized'. |
| ShinAkuma203-29-07, 01:18 PM | It's a Spot Check, DC based on how familiar with the target the spotter is. I would think, based on the Disguise charts, it's DC 0 for someone with whom you are intimately familiar (your mother, your wife, etc), 2 for your close friends, 4 for a friend or associate, and 6 for anyone else you would simply know on sight (your friend's mom you met once). Using Tarkin's modifiers (which seem pretty good to me), the bandana probably wouldn't help too much if you already knew the person. Perhaps the Bandana should go up to +6, so you have a chance of not recognizing the "recognize on sight" category. I know that if I saw any of my friends/relatives in a bandana, and no other disguise, it would be simple to identify any of them through any number of factors, but I might not recognize my girlfriend's mother, whom I have only met once. A full face mask, on the other hand, would make recognizing just about anyone difficult, unless you were very familiar with body type/language. |
| planetouched03-29-07, 07:12 PM | Would it work in reverse? Say the first time i ever saw my moms friend was when she was wearing a bandanna, or a mask. The next time I saw her, I would make a spot check of DC6 at a penalty? That seems a little too lenient. Would it make sense to make a spot the first time, with penalties, and this would determine how well i "know" this person (their body/face). Then to recognize them i would need to beat a DC of...what? Suggestions would be appreciated. |
