Does Highten Spell stack with other Metamagics? [Archive] - Wizards Community

01-08-08, 07:58 AM Does Highten Spell stack with other Metamagic feats? For example, if I Empower a Lightning Bolt, can I add Highten Spell to the two spell-slot levels that Empower Spell already requires? Or would I have to increase the Empowered Lightning Bolt a 3rd slot-level to gain just a single level of Highten Spell's effect?

01-08-08, 10:44 AM You may stack Heighten on a spell just like you would any other MM. That is casting Empowered Lightningbolt as a 3rd level spell uses a 5th level slot, to cast it as a 5th level spell using Heighten would require a 7th level spell slot.
