| Citadel9750105-23-07, 12:10 AM | Hello all I noticed this feat while skimming through my Complete Arcane, do you think its worth it, being able to use two wands in the same action I think is compareable to casting 2 spells a turn especially if you take that feat that allows you to sacrifice your spell levels to cast a spell from a wand, I don't remember which book its in. You might want to take Wand Strike, and Magical Artisan? Hmmm. . . Oh take it with a Warforged character and you can use the Wand Sheathes. . . I think I might want to post a starter thread for the best combo wands. . . |

It is an awsome feat IF the player is willing to sack xp to craft wands. It gets especially nasty if combined with the incantrix (from FR) and their spell trigger metamagic ability. With that ability and double wnad weilder you could fire off 3 spells per round. There are also some wand feats in PHB2 that could be used with this ability. |

You will tend to blow through wands really quickly though, so as stated, you must be willing to fly through the xp to make wands. Also, your play style will have to change from a normal wizard. Normally you would cast a spell and move to the most protected area to avoid attacks, but with DWW, you can only move 5', so the rest of the party has to be conscious of protecting you. Quick draw is a good feat to have with this setup. If you are a human, take able learner so you can get the skill sleight of hand up to a level where you can sheath a wand as a free action. I also took quicken spell, for 3 spells a round and learned imbue familar with spells for the 4th spell in a round occasionally. The feat you seem to be describing is Master Wand, which is an epic feat. That is the one I know that fits your description, though my knowledge is far from complete so there might be a different one for pre-epic characters. If you want to play a unique wizard, this is definitely a fun way to go. |
| darkeness05-23-07, 09:51 AM | The feat you seem to be describing is Master Wand, which is an epic feat. If you are refering to my post, I am refering to a special ability of a PrC (the incantrix from the players guide to forgotten realms). |
| sirkently05-23-07, 11:32 AM | I was referring to the original post which was looking for a feat to sack spells for a wand charge. The incantrix would work well with a double wand wielder. |
| Citadel9750105-23-07, 01:27 PM | The problem with the Incantrix is that you won't be able to use wands of 3 different schools but I do like the class. |
| Jackmojo05-23-07, 02:32 PM | It seems to me that to some degree, the Rod of Many Wands from Complete Mage supercedes this feat's usefulness, so I would not take it (especially given the additional feat investments needed to get it), YMMV. Jack |
