| Aleolus09-18-07, 11:51 PM | OK, here are a group of feats designed to improve the Dragon Knight (found here (http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=921199)) in the same way that a Barbarian can take feats to improve his Rage. All of these feats have the Draconic Form class feature as a prerequisite, with any additional ones being listed normally. Extended Forming: Your Draconic Form lasts longer than normal Benefit: Increase the duration of your Draconic Form by 2 rounds. Special: You may take this feat multiple times, it's effects stack. Extra Forming: You gain 1 additional use of your Draconic Form per day Special: You may take this feat multiple times. It's effects stack. Raging Form: Prerequisites: Rage class feature, character level 3 Benefit: You may use your Rage class feature while in Draconic Form. Their benefits stack. Normal: Rage and Draconic Form may not be used simultaneously. Draconic Rage: Prerequisites: Rage class feature, character level 10, Raging Form. Benefit: Whenever you enter into your Draconic Form, or begin a Rage, you automatically enter both, only using one use of either. As an additional benefit, your Spell-Like abilities from the Dragon Knight class may be used while Raging, as they have become second nature. Any others you all can think of? |
| Kurama Youko09-19-07, 02:44 PM | 1.) Are the benefits obtained from Dragon Form the same as the benefits in terms of type as Rage, because im not understanding the need for the 3rd feat. Why are you limiting it anyway, Have you ever seen a Druid who had Barbarian levels worry about not being able to Rage while in the form of a house cat? Why limit it in the first place is my primary concern? 2.) About the last feat, it should be noted that Raging doesn't require a action in the first place. This feat is half useless. You'd probably be better off just copying most existing feats that seem similiar if not relate to this class feature in some form. Like Natural Spell, or in this case Dragon Spell-Like Abilities, and so on. Come up with feats that either directly increase the POWER of this class feature, or feats that allow you to gain a new kind of benefit while using this class feature or lastly offer away to utilize this ability in another kind of way outside of what it was intended for. |

Read the Rage description. Entering into a Rage requires a standard action, unless you have a feat that improves it. Plus, they both have a daily use limit, and the last feat is saying that you automatically gain the benefits of both, while only using a use of one. And allowing the benefits of Draconic Form and Rage to stack gives a total of +8 Str and Con, +2 Will, and -4 Dex. |
| Kurama Youko09-19-07, 09:40 PM | Rage (Ex): A barbarian can fly into a rage a certain number of times per day. In a rage, a barbarian temporarily gains a +4 bonus to Strength, a +4 bonus to Constitution, and a +2 morale bonus on Will saves, but he takes a –2 penalty to Armor Class. The increase in Constitution increases the barbarian’s hit points by 2 points per level, but these hit points go away at the end of the rage when his Constitution score drops back to normal. (These extra hit points are not lost first the way temporary hit points are.) While raging, a barbarian cannot use any Charisma-, Dexterity-, or Intelligence-based skills (except for Balance, Escape Artist, Intimidate, and Ride), the Concentration skill, or any abilities that require patience or concentration, nor can he cast spells or activate magic items that require a command word, a spell trigger (such as a wand), or spell completion (such as a scroll) to function. He can use any feat he has except Combat Expertise, item creation feats, and metamagic feats. A fit of rage lasts for a number of rounds equal to 3 + the character’s (newly improved) Constitution modifier. A barbarian may prematurely end his rage. At the end of the rage, the barbarian loses the rage modifiers and restrictions and becomes fatigued (–2 penalty to Strength, –2 penalty to Dexterity, can’t charge or run) for the duration of the current encounter (unless he is a 17th-level barbarian, at which point this limitation no longer applies; see below). A barbarian can fly into a rage only once per encounter. At 1st level he can use his rage ability once per day. At 4th level and every four levels thereafter, he can use it one additional time per day (to a maximum of six times per day at 20th level). Entering a rage takes no time itself, but a barbarian can do it only during his action, not in response to someone else’s action. I bolded the print that is particularly useful here. Also everything else you mentioned just makes my point more true, its half useful. I mean don't get me wrong, its a fine ability, i mean its pretty much Frenzy and Rage in terms of its relationship and interchangability. |
