| DarkJester104-03-07, 06:33 AM | My dragon cohort seem a little.... weak. I'm currently a level 11 Druid and he's a level 9 Bronze Wyrmling. He just leveled so I gave him one class level in Paladin but I'm not sure if that's the best choice... So can someone help me out to determine the best job line for a dragon cohort? And the best effective way to use one? I was thinking of going down a caster path... But dragon learn sorcerer spells after a certain age right? Any help is GREATLY appreciated. ^^ |

I think a dragon is best used as a jack of all trades. Max out useful skills which will complement the party. Have it use its flight, blindsight, darkvision/low light vision to help scout around. It should also fare as a decent combatant in combat with some appropriate buffs. Maybe 1 lv of rogue for sneak attack(or 2 for evasion). Monk or fighter for extra feats. I dunno - multiclass creatively?:) It gets spellcasting far too late to be of use, say for activating wands and the like, IMO. |

Imo it is best to add Dragon HD when the dragon levels and when the DM allows it increase the age category when you have added enough HD. Imo thats better than some class levels. And like runestar said, dragon cohorts is no front line fighter but more something like a bard or scout. |
