In the Dragonfire Adept excerpt, it says that they (along with Warlocks) can use the Ability Focus Feat for Invocations.

My question is, do you need to take AF for each Invocation?
(i.e. AF (Deafening Roar) etc.)

OR

Do you simply take Ability Focus (Invocation)?

Its one feat for each invocation. AF: Noxious Blast, as you put it, not AF: Invocations.

Usually for the Warlock, they take Ability Focus: Eldritch Blast if they focus on essence invocations (like sickening, noxious blast, etc), since it applies to all essences this way, but a very narrow-focused Warlock might take it for Chilling Tentacles, for example. I personally think its a waste of a feat; they should get Extra Invocations to diversify, not narrow themselves more.

Dragonfire Adepts take it on their breath weapon, regardless, since there's a Ref save associated w/ it (it also applies to all the Breath Effects, though).

Ok, thanks.

As a side track to the conversation, what happens with a Beholder that wanted to take this feat? The same thing? He would need a seperate AF for each eye ray as opposed to a single for the entire "eye rays" ability? Which would I suppose be the same as a Retriever as well (not that it can have feats, but that isn't important)?
