Dragonfire adept + monsterous metabreath weapon feats ? [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-26-07, 05:34 PM I was wondering is the Dragonfire adept able to take metabreath weapon feats found in the Draconomicon. it could delay using it's breathweapon by certain amount of rounds ?

03-26-07, 05:43 PM No. The uses of the Dragonfire breath weapon is limited by actions, not rounds. Delaying the use of the breath weapon does not work.

03-27-07, 02:57 AM Don't actually have Dragon Magic, but aren't some of the breath-essence-invocation (have no idea what they're called)that have a cool down time on them? You could theoretically use those. Granted, I've only ever skimmed the book once, I might be entirely wrong.

03-27-07, 03:22 AM I tweak the DFA to have breath be 1/1d4 rounds, and instead of the breath essences, it gets bonus metabreath feats. (I'm considering doing something to add the essence pre-req's to the feats, and fill out the feat list to include the essences that don't already transfer.)

OTOH, I also keep the DFA to exclusively dragonblood subtypes and true dragons, along with a similar class that gives flight, increases size, gives resistance-turned-immunity, and natural claw/bite/etc attacks over the 20-lvl progression. Between that, the DFA, and the Sorcerer, plus whatever else they want, I allow characters to play true dragon wyrmlings.

03-27-07, 04:15 AM I say yes to the feats the main requirement with those ones seem to be you having a breath weapon and there is that feat that improves your Half-Dragon breath weapon from one a day to one every 1d4 rounds which rocks !! if you meat the requirements then you get it thats all you need .

They are not monster feats by the way either just that monsters nomally qualify for them like Multiattack with a Half-dragon you can take this feat because you have a bite and 2 claw attacks :)

Almost. The requirement is that you have a breath weapon whose delay between uses is expressed in rounds.
