So I'm making a character, sivlerbrow human to get dragonblood subtype, and instead of armor I chose to take the variant of a dragonscale husk.

This bonus doesn't stack with any feat, racial trait, or other special ability that would grant you a bonus to Armor Class...Your husk isn't treated as armor for the purpose of being affected by spells or other abilities.

and in the descriptor for the vow of poverty they say

A 1-st level ascetic recieves a +4 exalted bonus to his Armor Class...This does not stack with an armor bonus.

So what I got out of it it that the dragon scale husk wouldn't count as armor, and therefor doesn't count against the exalted armor, but Icould be wrong...seeing as this is the first time I've touched vow of poverty :embarrass

No it wouldnt becuse the dragonscale husk says that it dosnt stack with any feats giving a bonus to AC and last time i checked VoP was a feat. Plus i think the dragonscale husk counts as armor, but not to spells.

You said it in your quote from Dragon Magic. The dragonscale husk doesn't stack with feats that grant a bonus to AC. VoP is a feat.

Right it is a feat, but it grants you Supernatural and Extraordinary abilities. The husk says it doesn't count as armor for the purposes of spells and other abilities, which is where I am getting confused, because it doesn't stack with any feats or abilities, but for the purpose of those abilities it doesn't count as armor? That's the point I was trying to get clarified in my post, sorry for seeming totally noobly :embarrass

What sort of abilities the feat grants you is irrelevant, it is still a feat, and therefore doesn't stack.

What it is saying is that it doesn't count as armor for spells that affect your armor. Such as Magic Vestment (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/magicVestment.htm).

Keep in mind, I don't have Dragon Magic, I'm just going off of your quote.

Well damn...That would have been a sweet semi-loop hole in the VOP...Because dragon husk AC gets better as you level(starts at 6/2, then 7/2 at 3rd level 8/2 at 6, etc) and gives you energy resistance at level 5/10/15/20 for 5/10/15/20 :P but I suppose I can just not wear my dragon husk :weep:
