| Platrat07-16-07, 05:52 AM | When a druid changes into another form, does he/she retain any of the benefits from her old stats, or character level hit dice? Say a level 20 halfling druid changes into a tiny viper, does she gain any benefit from her 16 dex, and 16 con, or class HD, or does she just get the stats of the tiny viper per the entry on the monster manual? I can't find a answer in the PHB.. And yes, first time trying out a druid... |

When you Wild Shape, you have two effective CON scores. Your original score is used to calculate hit points. Your form's score is used for all non hit point related things. If you change forms and take CON damage, your hit points change (based on the change to your original CON score) and your Fort save changes (based on the change to your form's CON score.) If you Wild Shape wearing an item that provides an enhancement bonus, your hit points drop due to the item "melding away and becoming ineffective." Etc |
