| seaweed_smokeweed05-29-07, 06:04 PM | So here's one for the Board's Gods: Does the Dodge ability granted by the Swashbuckler work with the Elusive Target feat? You know, just wondering. Thanks in advance. Amen. |
| seaweed_smokeweed05-29-07, 07:01 PM | Really, no takers? Umm, ok |
| ShinAkuma205-29-07, 10:58 PM | It's not the Dodge feat, so no, by RAW. I could see it being a reasonable houserule. I'd probably allow it. However, by the book, it doesn't work. |
| Sdub05-29-07, 11:26 PM | I also don't think that it really goes with the flavor of the dodge idea. Granted, the fact the the swashbuckler doesn't have to choose the same target for the dodge class feature and the dodge feat, the idea of the rule is that you are focusing your attention on one target in order to better defend yourself from them. |
| Ruike05-30-07, 09:27 AM | dodge counts as a virtual feat of, guess it...its coming.......DODGE yeah you win a cookie. Its simply states that if you have it in addition to the ability you can use it against someone else, but it is the same thing so I'd have to say yeah. Even for the benefits of the tactics they aren't too terrible since you are actually doing the same thing to two seperate people. This could vary from campaign to campaign depending on if its getting abused or what-not. I'd say test it out against both first and if its too much then nerf it a tad. |
| ShinAkuma205-30-07, 12:35 PM | dodge counts as a virtual feat of, guess it...its coming.......DODGE yeah you win a cookie. It's not the Dodge feat. It's a class feature called "Dodge Bonus". They're two separate things. The class feature wont qualify you for Mobility, or the Duelist PrC. It's not the same thing. |
| seaweed_smokeweed05-30-07, 10:13 PM | Thanks for your response, I finally got my Complete Warrior back and saw that it said "dodge feat". But I might allow it as a houserule for a trial run. |
| Potato Weasel05-31-07, 11:21 AM | It's in either the official errata or faq that elusive target specifically doesnt benefit from the multiple targets of the swashbucklers dodge bonus. |
