I was reading the text for Maximize SLA in Complete Arcane and it refered to Empower SLA and Quicken SLA in the MM. So i opened up my MM and read those to feats. Empower has the restriction that the empowered ability has to be half your caster level -2, and quicken has a similar restriction of caster level -4.

Being that a Warlocks blast is level equlivent to half your caster level, are these feats ever useable by warlocks. I see them in builds all the time, have they been reprinted? is there a new ruling? or am i just reading them wrong?

It was errata'ed that the warlock's EB is now treated as just a 1st lv spell, though its effective spell lv can be adjusted by applying the appropriate invocations to it.:)

Head over to the D&D Errata page and download the Complete Arcane errata, which answers your question. Basically, Eldritch Blast is equivalent to a first level spell.
