| instag8or1901-30-08, 02:48 AM | I was looking at Epic Counterspell, and I'm a bit fuzzy on when you can counterspell.... Epic Counterspell Prerequisite: Spellcraft 30 ranks, Combat Reflexes, Improved Counterspell, Improved Initiative, Quicken Spell, Reactive Counterspell Benefit: Any number of times per round, you can counterspell an opponent's spell even if you have not readied an action to do so. Such a counterspell doesn't count against your later actions for the round. You can even use this feat when flat-footed. ...Does this mean you counterspell without using an action....or is it like an AOO type thing since the prereqs include combat reflexes, or is it like an immediate action type thing since you can use it at anytime.... Also if you have this feat would you even need Opportunity Counterspell Please someone clear this up.... |

Since it a normal counter spell done faster i would say it does not provoke AOO because it's a free action. In other word that feat could have been written like that : You can now counter spell any number of times per rounds as a free action provoking no attack of opportunity. This feat can be use even when flat-footed. |
