Else, there is a rule that you must have an ECL of at least 21 before you can take epic feats.:)

11-30-07, 11:08 AM part of the definition of 'epic' is being levle 21+, thus it's a built-in prerequisite that you have to be level 21+ to take epic feats.

11-30-07, 05:10 PM But if you count being epic as a requirement, theres is one feat (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/epic/feats.htm#uncannyAccuracy) that you can take non-epic (and only if you have 11 levels in ranger). It says that if if you have 11 levels in ranger you can ignore the rest of the prerequisites. But it's dumb, so no.

Characters gain epic feats in the following ways:

At 21st level, and every three levels thereafter, the character may select an epic feat in place of a nonepic feat.

Each character class gains bonus epic feats according to the class description. These feats must be selected from the list of bonus epic feats for that class.Epic feats are not available to creatures with less than 21HD, even if they meet all the prerequisites. This is not a prerequisite.

Note also that Epic feats are not available at ECL21, but at character level 21. Level adjustment does not permit the taking of epic feats prior to 21HD.

Which directly contradicts page25 of the ELH, where it explicitly mentions a fighter13/blackguard3 with LA+5 being eligible for epic feats as it has an ECL of 21.;)

It appears from that sidebar that the epic rules use ECL everywhere that normal rules use Character Level / HD; I'll have to decide whether to houserule that statement out as I honsetly think character level / HD is a better basis.
