In MoI on p.19, a character's essentia capacity by level is listed. Some class features or feats may raise this capacity, but mainly it is there.

I'd also like to stress that unlike nearly everything else in the game, it scales by *character* level, not *class* level. A wizard with Incarnum Spellshaper, Midnight Metamagic and Bonus Essentia could invest 4 essentia in any receptacle he's got (i.e. Midnight Metamagic or an incarnum spell).

=/ i kinda don't have the magic of incarnum book. i was looking for the essentia capacity to use some feats from it though...i just dunno how much my character has to spend though...

Okay. Essentia capacity is not the same as essentia pool. If you're not an incarnum-using character from a class, then your essentia pool has to come from different sources (feats). Essentia capacity is the maximum essentia you can invest into any one source.

Since MoI isn't OGL or in the SRD, we can't post any full excerpts from it without breaking the CoC. Sorry.

As andinel said, a non-incarnum character has an Essentia Pool of 0, and a starting capacity of 1.

The pool is number of points you have, capcity is max you can put in any given recepticle.

the capcity increases with level. The Pool only increases with specific feats and with taking incarnum classes.

Base Capacity = 1 + 1/6 HD (round down). The formula changes in epic levels.

Is that incomplete enough of an exerpt?
