| mhack112802-26-07, 02:32 PM | i msure this has been dscussed before so link it to me if it has please but... if a mount has evasion or improved evasion does his rider benifit from this as well. i personally would say yes becouse if the mount can get out of the way then so should the guy riding him. you do use a mounts movement speed when riding him so you would logically follow his movement abilities such ass evasion. any rules backing this up? |
| Puca02-26-07, 02:42 PM | Evasion is not a "movement ability." You do not get the benefits of Evasion by virtue of riding a mount with the ability. |
| Vegepygmy02-26-07, 03:26 PM | any rules backing this up? nope. |
| Inigo Carmine02-26-07, 03:31 PM | Puca is correct. Evasion does not involve getting out of the area, it is simply a way to avoid taking damage. You can justify it however you want. One of the more common ways of adding flavor to a mount getting evasion and the rider not is the mount using the rider as cover.;) |

I suddenly have this funny mental image... "A mage slings a fireball at a paladin on a special mount. The mount makes its reflex save - which sees it doing a flip into the air. While in mid-air, it is upside down, meaning that its rider is too. Thus, while it escapes the boundary of the fireball just nicely, this means that the paladin is still left within the blast radius of the fireball...":D |
| High Octane02-27-07, 02:37 AM | Actually usually the improved evasion is caused by the mount using its rider as cover. Happens all the time. Fireball coming at the paladin and his mount, the mount bucks the paladin off, it explodes all over the paladin and the mount is perfectly fine. He then bucks the paladin back on before he realizes what happened. The reason no paladins have been told this happens is because their travelling companions just find it too damn funny to put a stop to. |
