| Nahameth02-22-08, 03:35 AM | hi there. my new crusader-monk "Karla" has "thicket of blades" stance, "Combat reflexes" and "evasive reflexes" feat. how this combination work  do i use it correctly? Karla makes a full attack, then moves 5'. Opponent moves 5' to make a full attack, but Karla uses "Thicket of Blades" to get AoO and then "evasive reflexes" to move 5'. Opponent moves another 5 feet, again provoking. Karla makes her second AoO using "Combat reflexes" strinking opponent. Opponent makes his Attack. Procedure begins again. hmm. sounds unbalanced. thankx for help |

It is the exeption though, so its easy to miss. It is still a nice way to guaruntee people can't hit you with full attacks unless they have reach. |

| Nahameth02-22-08, 06:54 AM | I am not sure how your opponent is able to take 2 5-ft movements (white raven stance???). you announce a 5'step. then you recognice the reaction of opponent. you announce another movement (up to your limit) as a reaction. The rest of your possibilities for the roun depends on how you move. there is not written anywhere that you have to announce how far you move before start of movement. its easy and dynamic. |

That is correct. Just like how you don't announce a full-attack. ahead of time. You decide after the first swing. |
| aelryinth02-22-08, 11:01 AM | They are correct about movement provoking above. You would only get one AoO off the movement of your enemy, regardless of how far they moved while threatened by you. Also note, you must have reach on her, because her moving 5' into contact with you won't provoke a thicket attack unless you already threaten her. ==Aelryinth |

Also, you only get an AOO when someone moves out of a threatened square, not into one. The character would have to hold a reach weapon to threaten creatures 5' away and then attack adjacent creatures with unarmed strikes. |

He is right. You need to threaten them before the movement, not after. |
